My Leadership History - Coach/mentor

 Introduction: competency 2B + 5

Mentor and coach are essential skills and part of my success when talking, instructing, and directing my followers. Over the years, I have used and applied my skills, including multicultural knowledge and expertise as a leader, to train, influence, and conduct people and businesses to achieve better results. Thus, my leadership history presents a combination of skills that were/are essential to understand the steps involved in my leadership role.

ARTIFACTS AS A MUSICIAN:

While working at All Nations Music School, I developed a unique project with the student/singer Tamara Carvalho. I had the privilege to teach her piano and vocal lessons. Under my instruction and guidance, she recorded her first album CD called “Força da Promessa.” She was a very talented young woman that had her ministry dedicated to the Lord.

I worked as the music school director for All Nations Music & Arts Center.

I was the coordinator for the I Conference of Worship and Praise – In His Presence – promoted by All Nations Baptist Church in Danbury, CT.

Under my coordination, among the many topics and speakers presented in the conference, we taught the influence of the music into the worship context and how they reflect our way to worship God, that at the end, they express our worldview.

It is known that music communicates love, relaxation, elicits memories, feelings, and taste, among others. As a pianist and music teacher, I wrote a book on How to Play by Chords: Basic Approach – A Practical Concept. Through this book, I intend to provoke in the students their need to communicate their knowledge and skills in playing the piano.

Piano chord book: a way to communicate and teach music.

I was the music teacher for my step-son (Richard) and daughter (Hillary). I have been teaching music since an early age. They play several musical instruments such as piano, alto sax, flute, ukulele, and violin. They have participated in recitals and school events around the town.

As a Christian and musician since my early years, I have had the privilege to develop my passion for conducting and directing many choirs and vocal groups.

The Doxa trade and brand name belong to me in Brazil. I extended its use in Canada, and with other singers, we performed in many events and churches.

As Doxa Vocal Group director in Brazil and Canada, I used to participate in religious events, evangelistic series, and crusades to sing about Jesus for the church members as well as for the communities. These events are a combination of performances at churches and in theaters.

A. We performed in an evangelistic series in November 1996. See the guests’ list (convidados) – Grupo Doxa, on the flyer, in Portuguese.

B. We performed in a unique program (Ullanda Innocent & Doxa) directed to nom-SDA members in July 1996. See Doxa picture on the flyer, in Portuguese.

C. We performed at “Teatro da Reitoria” in Junho 1997 in a unique program directed to evangelical people. See Doxa picture on the flyer, in Portuguese.

As a musician, Christian, musical producer and Doxa Vocal Group director, I released the first CD album called “Reason to Sing.”

The main reason was to preach the gospel and show Jesus to many people through the songs we used to sing.

See the CD front page, flyers and video, in Portuguese. In the picture, I am the first person from left to right.

As a musician, Christian, musical producer, and Doxa Vocal Group director, I performed with the group in a special program singing to non-SDA members, ex-SDA members, and non-members.

As a musician, Christian, musical producer, and Doxa Vocal Group director, I released the second CD album called “Ser De Jesus É Bom Demais.”
