Philosophical Foundations
Introduction: competency 1A
Like a picture on the wall, looking to myself and remembering the stories and circumstances that have molded my life, it is clear to me that the narratives of yesterday still address me today in some considerable ways. The core values which surround me today were given by my parents, by the education I received and followed by God’s direction. I am a Christian, and it is vital to understand not only the connection between my worldview with theories and practices but how one’s worldview relates to leadership theory. Not less important is to evaluate several established philosophies of leadership and their relevance to us as leaders, and grasp individual differences, and how they affect outcomes in different situations.
What is it for?
Leadership functions within the context of multiple perspectives and understands how their individual worldview influences practice (Leadership & Learning Plan – LLP, p. 19)
